Twonk is a Commentator, Competitive Player, Speedrunner, and prominent member of the Sonic Riders community.
<div class="heading">Playstyle & Competitive History</div>
He first joined the community in April 2020 but only started interacting in May when he started playing Sonic Riders Regravitified V0.5, a prior modding project of Extreme Gear Labs for Sonic Riders Zero Gravity, after watching a showcase stream. He quickly proved himself to be a player of high skill as he sweeped record after record on the leaderboards, getting one 2nd place, and winning 2 of the sparse tournaments at the time. He contributed many findings such as skips and routing, and would eventually go on to acquire every single non-open record in the patch including; Free Race, Time Attack, Story Mode, and Grand Prix.
People were interested to see how he would fare in the imminently approaching Sonic Riders Tournament Edition V1.3.
He would start playing Tournament Edition V1.3 around it's release date in August of the same year and once again would prove himself to have enough skill to match and outdo many top players in speedrunning. An example being he acquired the record for Metal City, the most popular track to speedrun, shortly after starting and, after some minor improvements, would maintain that record for the rest of the patch. However in the online scene he would not fare as well since the complexity and skill gap of TE was a lot greater than RG, as well as him not being as familiar with dealing with interactions. He would only play in 1 tournament and ended with low results. He would end the patch with 5 speedrunning records.
He continued to play on in Sonic Riders DX v1.0 and would slowly increase his tournament skill. At first he continued to play meta gears but eventually would come to what is now his signature combo, Cream Cannonball, around mid 2021. Cannonball was a gear that had rarely seen gameplay outside of open runs. The greater freedom of control the gear provided gave him a lot more enjoyment playing the game and he stuck with it for the fun of it, and to have a playstyle different from the rest. He proved it's extreme effectiveness in many aspects and still uses it to this day. He would start placing a lot higher in tournaments but would end up taking a long break from the game which would continue into 2.0.
in 2.0 he fell off lol unlucky ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
